Gabe Real lives and breaths for music. His sound is an eclectic mixture of influences including techno, house, minimal & tech-house. He’s the man behind Detek Events, a mainstay in the Detroit techno scene and responsible for the hugely successful “Summer Sessions” parties at Exodus as well as the monthly “Glitch” event at Oslo. Known for his legendary mix CD’s, you’re sure hear them bumping in the rides of any Detroit techno fan in the know. He is currently busy in the studio creating original content and working towards the launch of his label Detek Recordings.
When Gabe is behind the decks one thing is certain; it’s a guarantee that you will be shaking your ass! Currently holding down residencies at Detroit’s premier electronic music venues, Bleu and Oslo and with his 3rd appearance at Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival, he is a mainstay on the Detroit DJ circuit.

Music has always been a part of life. Born, Antonio Hernandez in San Juan, Puerto Rico, childhood in this Latin culture was surrounded by song and dance. In 1985, his family decided to move to the U.S., and after bouncing between a few cities in Texas, they ultimately made Orlando, FL their home in 1988. At the age of 12, Anthony Hernandez began making music on a Realistic mixer with a tape deck and a home CD player. It was in high school, a few years later, that he was introduced to dance music and saw what could be done with a mixer and the proper music player- a turntable. During the mid-90’s, Orlando was making an international mark on the club scene- pumping out fresh new beats and housing some of the best Dj’s in the world at clubs like Firestone and The Edge. The intense energy of the crowd, the pulsating music, and the incredible power the Dj has over the two made Anthony want to be a part of the movement. He decided to take Djing seriously in 1995 because he wanted to make people dance. Known then as Dj Koora, he played at many nightclubs and music festivals in Florida before moving to Colorado where he held a residency at 8150, Vail’s premier nightclub. He also had the opportunity to to play at the world renowned Guvernment in Toronto. And he hasn’t stopped to look back since, striving forward and staying true to his love for music. Today, he is back in Orlando where he goes by the name that all of his friends know him by, Anthony Hernandez. His garden-fresh style has grown over the years, evolving into a more soulful, integrated sound that captures his many musical influences over the years including artists from Deep Dish to Chuck Love to Danny Tenaglia, as well as sexy music from his native Latin side. Whether it’s work or play, Anthony is known to enjoy all music genres the same- as he would say, ” A good song is a good song!” You can truly hear this in his sound, as it is difficult to classify him into any one particular niche of electronic music. Anthony Hernandez loves to play funky… whether it’s house, techno, progressive, or electro, he is sure to get bodies moving on the dance floor. He has been the resident Dj for Orlando’s hottest summer parties by the pool- Pearl and Chill Sundays at Metro. You can find him throwing down beats at clubs such as Firestone, Crooked Bayou, The Peacock Room, Sky 60, Suite B, and Vixen. Anthony has currently taken on the challenge of music production, and is working hard to develop himself into a quality producer. So keep an ear out for some original music and upcoming shows… and keep dancing to support the music that we all love!
