Gemini Festival Was Fun In The Ft. Lauderdale Rain

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Thanks to Full On Productions, Darani, Geishaz.com and Jenna Vicious for a great time @ The Gemini Music Festival. Also, congratulations to Emily Play on her marriage. I had a great time seeing the passionate people dancing in the rain and having fun like everyone is supposed to at a electronic music fest. There was a great crowd blending the older and younger ravers and everyone was showing the same love and appreciation for the music. I hope everyone had a few extra changes of clothes and didn’t catch a cold. I also hope that none of the equipment was damaged from the water. For awhile the street was flooded with water over your ankles. Cheers to everyone who hung through and stuck it out.

Amazing Monday Turnout for Armin Van Buuren @ Tabu Orlando

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Many people were wondering why anyone would bring Armin Van Buuren the #1 DJ in the world to play in Orlando on a Monday. Well, all of the critics and nonbelievers were proved wrong. Tabu was very close to being filled to capacity and selling out the show. HTG aka Heavier Than Gravity Productions were responsible for the promotions, planning, and success of the event. They really know how to throw great events and have been responsible for throwing numerous successful events during the past 10 years. They have the capability to make some of the wildest event dreams come true. I was wondering why other production companies aren’t as successful.
I began to think about all the things that stood out to me about the success of Armin Van Buuren event. The first thing that stood out was announcing the event 3 months prior to the day of the show. This way, people could plan to be able to plan for the event and the promoters involved would have enough time to set up promotions and ticket sales over the internet and flyer numerous areas. Second, HTG are masterminds of networking and getting along with the community of where they are throwing their events. They get along with other promoters in the community and do not seem to step on anyone’s toes. They are not too far from my dream of having all of the electronic music promoters in the area coming together as one to work on events. They build strong teams and work together with people in the community to make sure their parties are successful. HTG also has not been apart of any bad business deals and they stick to their word and deliver on their promises.
The Armin Van Buuren show was totally awesome! He played from about 11:30pm-3:00am which is almost unheard of for an Orlando party. He had the crowd moving for his entire set. Orlando was overwhelmed with a terrific show on a very memorable Monday of all days.

Steve Porter Rocked Love Friday @ Destiny Orlando

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Steve Porter totally blew me away with an amazing performance at Destiny Nightclub Orlando. He is very animated, entertaining, and shows a passionate love for the music whenever he plays. He gives the crowd what they want to see and hear. He definitely educated the Orlando crowd with his sound that captivates dancefloors across the world. The young crowd at Destiny wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can assure you that they will always remember Steve Porter’s Destiny performance which brought life and positivity into the Orlando dance music scene. A lot more oldskoolers also made it out to Destiny and knew what to expect. They all were very impressed and all left with a smile on their face. People remember Steve Porter’s shows. He has strong support from the olskoolers and continues to educate the nuskoolers. The people that have seen Steve Porter shows in various places in the past keep coming back to see him spin again and again. I definitely couldn’t get enough. I am always impressed with Steve Porter shows. Long live Porter House baby!

Awesome Tiga, D.I.M., Thomas Von Party Show @ Circa Toronto

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Your-Scene.com travelled to Toronto to cover the Tiga, D.I.M., and Thomas Von Party Turbo Recordings show @ Circa Toronto. The venue Circa in Toronto is amazing! The Turbo party was in the main room, but there also was a ballroom almost as big, and also a bar and dj in the bathroom area. Also, there were crazy go go dancers in crazy costumes everywhere. The layout of Circa is insane!
The Turbo show was amazing! When Tiga stepped on, the place was electric! He threw down an amazing set. Tiga is my favorite Dj and Producer for a reason. He knows how to work the crowd for sure. Everyone was dancing and enjoying the moment. Thomas Von Party was kind enough to let me meet Tiga and let me snap some great pictures. Check out the pictures below.
